Welcome to Hidden Acres Horse Farm!

Let me tell you about our family and Hidden Acres Horse Farm. My husband, John and I are retired military that settled here in North Carolina. John is from Massachusetts and I am from Oklahoma. I grew up working on cattle ranches with my father. This is where my equine background came from and what started our farm. After 24 years in the military, I was ready to get back into riding and being around horses. Although I don’t have cattle to herd around nowadays, I enjoy teaching others about horses. And I am very lucky to have a husband that loves to ride as well. Our youngest daughter, Beth, has my love for horses and is a big help on the farm.

We have 11 acres, a lovely, 100+ year old farm house and a comfortable barn. Over the past 4 years we have put in horse stalls, built fence for pasture, cleared out the backwoods and put in an arena and round pen.

Since I have retired, I have also spent many weekends taking equine related classes at North Carolina State University to bring my knowledge base back up to speed. A lot has changed in the horse industry since my early years, but you know, the horse has not changed at all. They are as wonderful, challenging, aggravating and rewarding as they always were.
